The Discovery Education database allows students and teachers to access educational video clips, full documentaries, images, audio files/podcasts, primary sources, text, and more. It also allows teachers to create classes, assign work, and keep track of student progress.

The Board Builder tool allows users to create a multimedia page with content from the Discovery Education database. Users can also add original text, video, and sound recordings.

In this unit, students create something original (ex. a historical fiction story or an audio monologue) and post it on a board using the Board Builder. They finish by adding images and videos from the database to illustrate and expand upon their original content and by citing their sources.
